Photo of Dave Draper taken around 1990 by IronMan Magazine photograper Mike Neveux.

Yesterday and today, muscle size, shape and density are the qualities we strive for as bodybuilders. These photos 23 years apart show an interesting comparison and bring the dimension of time and age into the picture. Though there's only a 3-5 pound difference in bodyweight, the increase in muscle density is clearly evident. This increase in muscularity and reduction of bodyfat results in loss of overall size. After twenty five years of training, my body has become more compact and dense, leaner, yet sacrificing fullness of muscle.
